Default The cost of security

The cost of security be it your home, place of work or country can be excessive. The criminal has to do very little in some cases to push you to install better security/detection.

Better door locks, gates, cctv all costs money, yet the criminal speed almost nothing.

I like the look of the camera door bell units linked to your phone so you can see who is ringing your bell even when not at home.

I also think the inexpensive cctv systems that places like Screwfix sell have to be worth considering.

Finally - our dogs have caught two people on our property - dogs are in many ways the best deterrent

Our security is American Bullweiler. Like the Dog de Bordeaux, if a would-be burglar still breaks in after hearing her bark, they deserve everything they get!

Well our security is a Border Terrier/Jack Russell (lots of barking then runs away), a rescue GSD who would just run away barking..... and then the real security: A rescued Romanian Street Dog who is very protective of us and everything around her now - if they got in, getting out may be a problem lol

We have a rescued Romanian Street dog as well! Ours is the same - a gentle giant until he sees a threat then he has the bark of a bull elephant!!

I posted some pics on here - will try to find the link

See bumped "meet Monty" thread

not sure our doggy security will be much good, although he barks at everything walking past the garden, or blowing about in the garden,

Looks just like Webster - our late GSD - when he was 6 weeks .

I also looked at the doorbell one but it seems very restricted as far as the view goes. Went for a £40 IP camera mounted above the door onto the gate and another onto the garage and caravan. Vied on any phone and/or laptop. Night vision is very good as well.
