Default Help with a ZT CDTI in Poitiers France

My son is at uni in Poitiers.
He drove to the campus last week, and on returning the car would not start.
Turning over fine
We discovered with me giving instructions by phone that the pump under the bonnet stopped.
I have sent him a second hand replacement, and now he has a steady stream of fuel in to the fuel filter.
But he removed the cam sensor and cleaned it. Now with the pump working car isn't firing up.
Have sent him a working cam sensor from our donar car, which we should get Wednesday.
Any other easy repairs should I get him to look at if the cam sensor doesn't do the job.
He is in a car park! working on it.
Or are any members in the town could give him help or advice.
Thanks
Dave

make sure the tank is over half full, could be the in tank pump is also not working , i would try easy start and see if it starts, to get it going. ( dont use it to many times ) to eliminate all other problems first. then you can narrow it down to fuel problems or something else ,

i will be passing your way in April if you need help ,
