Recently had an ex pat bring over a Oslo blue v8 rover 75 ,had it up for auction as it is the only v8 R75 here in Australia ,he wanted $26,000 Aud.
Think the bidding got to 10k Aud and it got passed in. Ended up speaking to a Rover tech who had worked on the car and reckoned its Ecu was not well and they couldn't get it to idle properly. There's also some one with Zt 260 in the east coast who wants 30k!!! Been for sale for a while !! Last edited by genpk; 20th February 2017 at 09:27.. |

LOL, because that's what happens on here for some reason.
Someone linked to a beautiful v6 with 23.5k on the clock for a bargain 1.3k. It was immaculate, mint, practically brand new. It had one fault, the IPK was 'poorly' - took three posts for someone to bring it up |

I wouldn't say it's disparaging... Just people voicing their opinions!
It will go for good money to someone, but the advert and pics need a LOT of 'bettering'! It's not shouting out that it's been well looked after or cared for; it's filthy, no interior shots and no 'money' shot of the engine bay... If you're trying to sell any car for c£8k, it needs some effort IMO... In saying that, to sell any car, it needs some effort! |

Well I think the price is a bit steep, especially as the owner isn't exactly "selling" his wares very well! They are a niche car and niche cars tend to develop their own price range that isn't comparable with other similar cars. Most 75 or ZT owners probably wouldn't ever realistically consider owning one because they are just an interesting oddity. It was never supposed to be like that but when MGR went pop, with so few made that's how things turned out. I'd have one gladly if my circumstances allowed, but alas they don't.
I see some have commented on its lowly spec. To be honest I couldn't care less about wind up rear windows and a lack of other fripperies. Surely you pay good money for a car like this for the driving and ownership pleasure, not to play around with toys.

Never understood why people like black wheels on any car, but a Rover/Mg v8. Ug. Everyone to their own I suppose.

I don't see anything wrong with back wheels personally. I never used to like them but times and tastes change

Wheels, like cars, like shirts, like socks are all personal taste... But something that can changed very easily!
If you think black alloys are naff, then that's your opinion, but not everyone has the same taste etc...! And if the colour of alloys put you off the overall car, then maybe your expectations are set too high?! |
