Default Question about Caravan Movers

Hi All,

I need some information on Caravan Movers. Not for a caravan, but in my work I have an access platform that weighs about 1500kg, and whilst on a car/van can be moved perfectly, but when at base, is a pain as I have a little slope to try and move it around on.

What is available please???

Thanks in advance.

As above, but there are alternative systems....

There is a no longer made Hitchdrive, where the jockey wheel is replaced by a hand cracked wheel. They tend to not be able to have enough grip for much of a slope.

There is a similar jockey wheel item which is battery powered.

If you just need to find a way to heave it up a slope which is too steep to push it, have you thought of a cheap and simple winch? You can get mains or 12v powered ones, or manual ones for not a lot.

I have a slope to drag the caravan up every time we get home. For years I managed with a manually cranked winch. A £15 winch mounted on a bit of scaffold pole, with enough wire to reach to the bottom of my drive. I have a couple of holes drilled in my drive, to drop the pole into and it worked well. I now have a mover fitted, but keep the winch as a standby and if necessary I could winch the car up my drive with it.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
