Well its been a few days and a few trips and while the temperature stays perfect she does keep losing coolant. Been parked next to my house now since sunsday and every day i peek under the coolant cap and you see the coolant level being lower every day. Yesterday it reached just below the LOW marking and so i topped her up again (100ml) and she was at MAX.
Today checked again and yep, dropped a few mm again... Any ideas? No puddles under her... O rings in V and themostat are good. Radiator is new... Mechanic says maybe heater matrix is leaking? This also since only the left side of the interior gets hot air when the heater is on....

It's more likely that you have air in the cooling system. It must be drained and refilled strictly according to the MGR procedure to avoid this. That's what you need to do next.

Well if you're absolutely certain that the expansion tank was raised and that the engine wasn't started until the bleed screw had been refitted (a common misunderstanding) then you may have an as yet undetected leak. Check the oil filter casing for watermarks.

But I am interested in your heater matrix fault. It's usually the LH side (when seated inside the car) which is cold because the coolant has to travel further to that side of the matrix. You seem to have the opposite problem which is unusual. If the matrix was leaking, as your mechanic suggests, you would have a chronic misting and condensation problem.

Look in both front footwells. On which side of the car are the heater matrix pipes: driver's or passenger's side?

Sorry for the very late reaction. Heater pipes are on the drivers side. Sow matrix is faulty. Thank god Rimmerbros had a 50% discount so now it is laying here awaiting montage in the car.

As for de coolant mystery...we examend the engine thoroughly last friday (oilfilter casing, underneath the car, complete enginebay and everything) with the hope to spot a leak somewhere but notthing. I dont understand it. She runs perfect. No smoke. No trouble starting. Coolant is clear as can be. Oil on dipstick is fine. Temp is perfect but sometimes when driving or when standing parked for few days the coolant level drops a bit but then sometimes it stays on level perfect . Only thing i can think of is it dropping in the engine somewhere (oil cooler would be best case scenario i prosume?)

Fyi: it is filled with red g12+ coolant and my car has the black coolantresevoir and the '100' cap.
