This is the Bosch BMW part with the exact same insert as the Rover one

LINK

It is identical as the original, both in part number and indeed performance, and is what is fitted to my own car.

just looking at the bottom Brian's link, there seems to be more alternative (apparently Bosch) ones listed, £20 less, and based in the UK (I have bought from ATP in the past, and not had any issues - but the alternatives seem to have higher percentage of positive feedback)

£61.80 HERE and HERE

I have no experience with either of these, nor connection, maybe someone else has and can comment?

with other units the calibration of the sensor and its feedback to the ECU may not be the same as the recommended part, this could result in overfueling or power loss....

I know that too, I should have stated that in my previous reply. I hoped the fitment guides (which are just guides) list the same cars, which is why I assume them to be the same. But I no longer have the need for one. If I didnt have a mafless map, long story, I would have taken a chance on one, as mine was on its way out. Just wondering if anyone else has had experience of the sellers, or the insert to confirm one way or another.

All those links have the same part numbers ,I think it's down to which is cheapest and whether it is genuine Bosch part or not I should have it Friday and will fit it at the weekend,so plan to be happily posting that it was a bargain and works perfectly

So I fitted the sensor taken from a BMW part listed for various petrol engines and it works perfect car starts perfect now and runs way smoother especially low down the revs,I have attached a couple of pics showing the part numbers are the same and showing the old and new together the old one on its own does not look to bad but next to the new one you can easily see how bright the new looks, its a really easy job to do take off the airfilter cover and there it isif you dont have correct 5 sided security torx the screws can be removed by gently tapping a narrow flathead screwdriver in between the centre pin and the slots and replaced with self tapping screws or cut a slot in the old screws to use a flathead screwdriver..........Oh and thanks to all with advice on parts numbers etc I reckon it saved me about £50 compared to Rover part ,gives me more towards my remap next weekend

HI Shaun
Nice one thank you for reporting back, and adding the photo's every little helps towards members having a go them selves, also knowing that the part is good for intended use
