Default Exspensive fill-up

So Friday morning I decided to fill the '75 with petrol. Expensive at the best of times.

Popped into my local filling station and spent £62 on petrol (ouch), got a nice compliment re the car from the young lad on the cash desk, then curbed the front off-side alloy when driving off (double ouch!).

So all in all, that's one costly fill up. Should have stayed at home.

Wheel is now with The Wheel Specialist at Farnborough for them to work their magic. They're quite expensive (everyone is 'round these parts), but they do an excellent job. Oh well, lesson learned I suppose.

That will teach you, next put some old wheels on first before you fill up after all you do run an expensive car. LOL!

Could have been worse, if you had filled it up with diesel

I average 3,500 miles a year so always use premium. And yes, I have found I do get more miles per gallon and the drive feels smoother. So when I got my 75 Connie 12 days ago the fuel indicator was lit with a quarter tank to go. Cost of filling the tank £73. I feel your pain in part

Well if I only did 3,500 miles a year I would not worry about the cost of fuel. I did 25000 in my CDTI last year.

Know that feeling!

Did exactly that after collecting my M5!

The alloys had just been refurbed and looked stunning! Went into the first Shell garage I could find en route home and caught one of the alloys driving away from the pumps in the very narrow lanes

Could have cried haha

I did manage to touch it up and it was hard to see; but I knew it was there and it'd drive me mad every time I washed the car/wheels

I have tried Premium fuel on both short and long running, makes no difference at all with me. Engine feels silky smooth and good mpg on both, but no discernable difference in mpg.
