Ztt rear shocks
Hi guys.
I know this has been discussed quite a bit and I have read up. Which shocks are best for ££ I know Matt has some but at £120 a pair I can't really afford that. Are there any that don't need mods? Is there any difference between e36 and e46 and is it a matter of buying a 14mm drill bit and drilling the 12mm hole. Brian linked these in a thread: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262602545751 Has anyone used them, are they a straight fit? Cheers Sorry for questions I need car ready for Friday |

Rover 75 tourer ones go straight on, but are a bit dearer than the ones Brian suggested, still cheaper than ZTT ones though!
Damping is less firm, but given how rubbish the roads are in Sheffield, I honestly wish I'd fitted 75 spec ones on mine last year! Last edited by Madderz; 20th February 2017 at 21:41.. |

As discussed before the BMW will fit with the 14mm hole drilled out-a bit of a job in hardened steel.
BMW use one type across their range and been reflex type gas shocks, they are slightly harder. This is ideal for towing the van and for a partially loaded tourer. Craig.

I drilled out some e46 ones and they have been fine... And way cheaper!

They will certainly be suitable for trundling along Ecclesall Road, when you pop out for a bottle of Hendo's. You wouldn't guess that a night out on West Street, followed by lates at Josephine's, and a cooked breakfast at Butler's tearoom the following day, was once a regular occurrence Brian |

Thanks guys.
Gone for the skint option and ordered those in the link Brian. Indeed Sheffields roads are awful but also tow a van so need a bit of stiffness. |
