I wasent given a code for the radio code I dont have it. I have the radio with the low satnav and a 6 multi changer, have you got any clues where I would get a code for this????
Thanks again it nice to be apart of a club that cares after its members.
Harmony radio was coded at factory most are coded, Symphony coded at dealer, most are not coded, check this thread to identify which you have. Supplying dealer may also have record if radio is coded always worth a check.

Sold as seen is not a legal get out for the dealer, your legal right are just that and trump any claims the dealer tries to make regarding your liability for the faults on this car.

Personal I would reject the car and ask for my old car back plus the additional cash and look for something near home.
I would definately agree with this.

Dealers cannot use 'sold as seen' as a private seller may do.

You have quite a list of faults there & why should you pay for them !!

Then worth ringing the dealer advising them of the numerous faults and asking if they are willing to at least pay for further investigation of the faults.

Aside from the above, they might well be old logged faults. The first step is to clear any logged faults then see which ifany reoccur. The fault could be many years old, have been repaired and the faults then never cleared. The faults are logged, but never any clues as to when they might have been logged.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

The passenge side blows really cold and the drivers side is nearly lukewarm.
Reverse parking gives a loud 5 second bleep and nothing else but my break lights work.
Heated seats don't work.
The screen on the computer on the dash looks like it is wearing a kilt lol. all checked.
The rev counter guage dosent move.
The temprature guage dosent move either.
There's quite a long list of faults there some easily fixed, others less so and could cost you 100's to put right.

There's definately a wiring issue affecting the CAN-bus wiring as described in the link Trebor posted, sounds like there's also damage affecting other systems too, A good auto electrian who can sort this is going to charge plenty

I would be inclinded to get in touch with the dealer who sold you the car to recover the costs for the repairs, if he fobs you off get trading standards involved.

Russ

Hello again Leigh,

Scottish law might be different, but in England the dealer is now responsible for any faults which occur in the first six months after sale. If you have a Citizens Advice Bureau near you, they'll be able to advise you of the best way forward. From the list of things which don't work on your car, I think you can justifiably say that the car was "not of merchantable quality" ( a Sale of Goods Act provision).

Simon.

Leigh, I am inclined to agree with the other members & leave the ball in the dealers hands, under the sale of goods act etc...That's not to say you have to give it back.
Just to paint a slightly less bleak picture;
parking sensors can be checked, ignition on 2nd click, (don't start the car) engage reverse, check reverse lights work, put your ear to each sensor, check they make a clicking noise. Wiring plug is under the bumper & quite exposed so could be a broken wire or duff sensor. (hint & tips on the forum)

Rev counter, temperature gauge & heated rear screen are supplied by the same wire (yellow I think) located under front left wheel arch directly below the engine bay fuse box. Check the inspection panel is present in front of front left wheel, this allows access to the headlight but also allows road crud to wash the wiring loom.

Cooler fan open circuit & no temperature gauge is bad, if it gets hot the fan won't cut in & you won't know because your temp gauge doesn't work.

My ZTT CDTI is currently suffering all the above. As for the rest of your fault codes there will be a reasonably large bill to sort the rest
