Smart Meters
Last June OVO installed at my request, Smart Meters. In November I changed suppliers to First Utility, who at the time said they would not be able to make use of the remote reading capability of my versions of the SM's.
Last week FU emailed me to say they would after all be enabling the SM's remote capabilities, but in around 28 days. Some 5 or 6 months after I switched. The likelihood is that I will switch again next November at the end of our present contract. I wonder if we will again waiting as long for the SM's to be re-enabled? There are a lot of conspiracy theories suggesting they want to install these SM's, so that they can quickly and remotely cut off your supplies. Yes, remote disconnection is included in the capabilities - Now if that were the intention, don't you think they might have the remote capabilities enabled for longer than 50% of the time?
