CD player install
I have a CD player from a Rover 75, which I would like to put in my Rover 75, which does not have one. The player came with a cable which has a connector and three wires, that were cut from the other cars loom. I have identified the cut wires, as a black earth, a purple and pink supply from a fuse, and a red with white stripe which comes from the K bus. There are the same colour wires going to the radio, which I thought, I could loop into, but the K bus wire has made me think of asking advice. Or do I have to buy a separate loom part, as described in your, how to articles.

You will need those three connected, plus the audio output connected - Pink/Black, Yellow/Black, Black/Pink and Black/Yellow.

My only concern, is in the Haynes, they show two separate red with white stripe wires, one goes to the radio, and one to the CD. If I loop into that wire will it confuse the K bus. The other wires you mention are still in a block connector, which plugs into the back of the radio.

If the stereo is a Harmony or a Symphony, it needs connecting to it as well as the CD changer as they use the K bus to communicate with each other. Last edited by raykay; 27th December 2016 at 19:12.. |
