Having a mental time, must be the cold nights. Does the service indicator tell mileage from/to next service please?

Or as many cars will have these days, a negative number showing the miles gone since the service indicator was last reset. Also remember that the indicator decreases in 20 mile chunks and are not necessarily equal to the driving distance over the period. The ODB calculates the chunks on the basis of fuel used over the physical distance travelled. This takes into account cold starts and short journeys and stationary traffic all of which accelerate the next service point. All that is only relevant of you drive over 15K miles a year and service according to the MGR recommendations. So, for less that 15K pa you ignore the indicator and service annually or at whatever period you fancy.
