Default ive bought another one

i could not be more pleased,auction just ended and i am now the owner of a 2.5 connie se,a bit beat up in need of front bumper and headlight,after the owner had a bump and insurance company said not worth repairing so class c,so was heading to rover heaven,its not now its going back on the road,any advice on best first jobs to do on a v6 much appreciated,i am now off to try and find someone with a trailer,its still drivable and was on the road up until wednesday last week,but is now sorn,cant wait to drive this one,hope the tourer does not become jealous

Well done saving another one.

First thing to check is the thermostat for leaks. Check the plenums too, not as critica, as the ECU sits higher up, but still needs checking. Check the shannon tube, it has probably disintegrated.

This is how it all begins & the 'collection' starts to build

If you have no idea when the timing belts were last changed, I'd add this to your list.
As said, check for signs of coolant in the valley where the thermostat is located (shine a torch under the inlet manifold, you'll soon see)

i knowthinking i am heading into expensive waters,but i just hate to see any get scrapped,its to nice for the crusher

oh i will thanks,not saying there wont be a few quid in the swear jar when i am under this in the rain, trying some bush replacement or some such,but being around these cars just makes me smile

i know but i am enjoying it,just lokking for a front bumper in the same colour now,colur code hff pearlescent if anybody knows of one
