Bluetooth adaptors in place of CD changer?
Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried any of the bluetooth adaptors you can get which plug into the standard stereos in place of a CD changer? I've seen these two on ebay: This one for £54.50 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Blueto...AAAOSwMmBVtRnp And this one for £119.99 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grom-Bluet...sAAOSwJQdXC9qe Obviously I would prefer to spend as little as possible, so if the cheaper one works I'd go for that. Has anyone tried anything similar? Many thanks in advance, Rob |

Haven't tried one buddy personally
But I reckon cd changers have had their day now Additionally in a 75 they fill yr glovebox (which is small to begin with) I prefer to use my glovebox for erm well gloves and suchlike I have tried an iPod interface though which is better But in real terms ice has moved on since the 75 was first leaving the gates of longbridge You can buy half decent radio/cd head units now with USB and Bluetooth etc etc Regards Chris |

Thanks for your feedback Chris. I bought the £55 bluetooth unit in the end.
Budget was a real driving factor in the choice... it's an expensive time of year anyway and I hadn't planned to buy myself a new car, but someone decided to drive into the side of my old 25 at the beginning of December, thus writing it off... By the time you've factored in the cost of the fascia adaptor, wiring harness / stalk control adaptor looms etc. the cost soon mounts up! Plus, I just couldn't really find an cheap aftermarket stereo I liked the look / controls layout of. This way, I can keep the car looking standard, keep the steering wheel controls, regain the use of my glove box (like you say, with the CD changer in there a pair of gloves is about all that will fit in! ) but be able to drive the audio from my phone (I mostly listen to audio books with Audible) and take hands-free calls through the car sound system. |

And (is it any good, what works/doesn`t)?
I have intravee at the moment and would like a cheaper alternative to get bluetooth for phone (and any extras) on my other car! Neil |

I bought a JVC Stereo for my Connie.
Stereo = 49 Fascia = 10 Adapter = 25 (I think, was a year ago now) The cost does mount up but I'll swap it to the next car whenever that is so over the years it will be cheap enough. The nice thing is it gives all the advantages of syncing with my Windows phone so excellent turn by turn navigation, hands-free calling & texting and I can say "play Rolling Stones" and it does :¬) The stereo also accepts a usb so I have my entire music collection connected and I can flick through using the wheel controls. Makes me wonder why anyone risks holding a phone when Bluetooth, however you do it, costs less than the cost of a tank-full of petrol.

It arrived on the 3rd as promised, but last weekend it was my youngest son's birthday so I didn't get a chance to try and fit it.
This weekend we're off up to the Midlands for a wedding... NEXT weekend however, I hope to be able to find the time at last! Not knowing how long it will take to do properly (routing cables for phone etc.) it's not something I really want to start doing in an evening. So at the moment it's sat on my desk taunting me...
