Default Cannot get into my rover 75.

Hi there, I have already posted about my car 2 days ago but now have more up to date information.
I am desperate to get into my car without smashing a window!!!
My Rover 75 CDTi '53 plate will not allow me to unlock my doors via the key in door handle. The fob, which is partially broken, will allow me to lock my car but not to unlock it remotely.
The AA man came out and managed to get a wire into the car and tried to open the door handles on both sides at front. He also managed to press the hijack button on centre console. None of these actions would unlock the car. He mentioned it being "deadlocked."
He then unattatched the wiring from the windscreen water bottle and was hoping to remotely unwind the electric window (again via a wire slid through front door). BUT the wires to the water bottle were purple and black. On his guidance they should be lilac and brown! He therefore refused to go any further in case of fritzing the electrics.
The battery works fine, tested!
Can anyone help me to find another way into my car and/or let me know if the water bottle wiring is a way into the car via windows AND whether it matters that the wires are black/purple and not lilac/brown? PLEASE HELP!!

Sounds like the micro switch that opens the car has had it. Mine had fallen off and was repaired faster than I can make a coffee by a respected member here, BigRuss. Contact him via PM and arrange to post it. Will mean no car for a few days but also no smashed window.

Lee.

As Lee has said above and I have indicated on your other thread, best way forward is to have the switch repd on your fob if you can. Failing that its going to be a major job.

I've no idea Martin what the AA man was thinking. For the record the windscreen washer pump's wiring for your tourer is shown as purple/blue and purple/green.

He is correct about the deadlocking though. MG Rover calls it superlocking. That's what happens when the key fob remote control buttons are used.

Smashing a window won't work I'm afraid. In superlocked mode the internal door handles are disabled and so is the master switch on the centre console.

If you can't get help via the forum you could try contacting Advanced Keys who advertise a new fob complete with PCB. This would have to be programmed to your car and your existing transponder removed from your current key case and fitted into the replacement. You'd also have to get the blade cut.

Or for about £200 you could order a brand new Rover key with all that done for you via BMW.

If the OP were to smash a window to gain entry, could T4 be used to deactivate the superlocking?

Sorry if this has already been covered, but does the little red light on the key flash when you push the unlock button? If not, it certainly does sound like getting the key's circuit board repaired is the best course of action.

If you do decide to resort to smashing a window (assuming the superlocking can be overcome somehow), pick carefully. Scratch free driver's windows are getting harder to find now.

Could you gain entry through the boot somehow?

Have you checked your original thread that you posted originally... there's been some updates, but you won't see them here!
