my rover 75 cdt cuts out when hot after a few minutes it will start again but after few mile it just dies any ideas

I'd plump for crank sensor....

does it start straight away, or does it need to cool first

sorry david for not replying sooner. have no problem starting its when the engine is warmed up that it cuts out it will start again after about ten minutes, AA said the under bonnet pump seems to be running continuously when the ignition is switched on when its supposed to stop.

Just a thought,I recently sold my 75cdt(got a 190zt now) and mine did the same as yours,go for a little while then cut out,wait ten mins and off we go again,cut out etc. Problem with mine was the pump in the tank had failed and as I had very low fuel level (less than a quarter) the pump under the bonnet couldnt keep up. Happened to me twice until I sussed it. As long as I kept enough fuel in the tank it was never a problem after that. After filling with fuel it would still cut out but after that was fine. Just a thought.....
