Default Problem after 190 upgrade

Hello,

I changed the callipers and discs on my rover 75 today for the 190 set up and all is well except I now have a brake fault light and also an ABS light.

I replaced the pad wear sensor on the drivers side but can’t think what has happened.

I’ve plugged into PScan and all four wheels are updating speed data so I don’t think it is a sensor as they seem to be working and the error code generated is J1979.

Any advise appreciated.

Regards

Thanks, just checked that and fluid level is fine.

Air in the system somehow? Another bleed? I’ve tried disconnecting the battery for a short while to reset anything but that didn’t work.

Regards

Hello, I've just got the identical problem, although I can't check the things you've been checking, not being mechanical.

Yesterday it rained cats and dogs as I drove into the hills behind Perth. The roads were very wet and I needed to slowly negotiate pooling water. The next day I had a Brake Fault warning and an ABS warning at startup, so I guess my fault was connected to excess moisture somewhere. Maybe you have the same issue? Just a thought.

Air in the system won’t throw up a light, check the wiring again in case something has been disturbed.

how much fluid did you allow to escape doing both sides ? maybe you have air in the abs unit still to purge ... or maybe it has a valve fault or connection issue. sometime coincidence can rear its head at the most strangest of times. i have never removed one of these units so could not even tell you if it has a plug connection that could have contact issues. andy (trikey) would know more im sure . !!
