Screen Wipers Problem
Rover 75 2.5 V6 Cons SE Auto,
Driving down road yesterday, Turned wipers on, Went to turn them off, and they just kept going, no matter where stalk was set. Stopped and turned ignition off, Which seemed to cure the problem. The car does have the rain sensor fitted, which has never seemed to work, properly. Any idea's anyone, In case it happens again. Thanks, And regards. John |

Screen Wipers Problem
Thanks,
The car is 2002, so battery a few years old I guess. I think battery is ok, Had no problems starting, Or anything. I have checked the upper plenium drains, I'll check the lower ones tomorrow, I have a new pollen filter, so will do that too. Sorry if I put it in wrong place. Thanks for your help , John |

Assume the OP has found the problem by now, but if not, I'd guess at a sticking relay.

John, I have the same with the sensor wipers, I have just brought a SE and it has the sensor, but I have not figured out how they work, on my Renault when you put the wiper switch on auto and they only worked when the water was on the screen, but these ones just seem to do what they want.

make sure that the screen is clean where the sensor is as it works on refraction of light
