![]() I was wondering if anyone tried to upgrade / modify 1.8 engine in Rover 75? I have recently seen QED Motor Sport offer and it looks very tempting. It is quite expensive though so it would be nice to get any feedback first.

![]() I don't think I would want more power from my 1.8T. I reckon it's at about its limit already. Possibly not the most robust of engines.

![]() Magazine feature I have (Retro Cars Jan 04) claims the following:
Option 1: Modify cylinder head, uprated valve springs, hotter camshafts, vernier pulleys, Freeflow air filter, head Skimmed (alters CR) : +32bhp Option 2: Big valve cylinder head, high lift camshafts, mechanical tappets, forged pistons, uprated crankshaft, uprated conrods, roller barrell induction system, bespoke ecu freeflow air filter, head skimmed : +80bhp !! Option 3: As above plus gas flowed induction system & cylinder head, performannce valves, dry sump lubrication system : +120bhp !!!!!! VVC engine : gas flowed cylinder head, freeflow air filter, performance valves, head skimmed, big bore throttle body - +12bhp So, everything from a fairly mild tune to a highly strung engine that will rev but won't idle is possible |
