Default 2002 Wedgewood Blue Rover 75 CDT for spares or repair **SOLD**

For sale is my much loved Rover 75 for spares or repair.
Hopefully this could be an easy fix for someone and can prevent the car being scrapped.

Rover 75 CDT connoisseur se
Millage – 149,000
Wedgewood blue (JBH)
Meteor wheels (including spare wheel)
Smokestone interior
Taxed until 30th June 2014
MOT until November 2014

Reason for selling as spares or repair:-
2 weeks ago the auxiliary belt snapped and the engine developed a loud rattle.
A mobile mechanic has replaced the auxiliary belt and crank shaft pulley costing almost £300, which got the car back on the road for a few miles.
The belt has since started to slip and won’t move freely all of the time plus the rattle still exists but not so loud (therefore cannot be driven)
I have decided to purchase a newer car with lower millage and not to repair on the basis I don’t have the time or resources available.

The car currently holds my personalised number plate which isn’t included in the sale.
I sent the V5c off to the DVLA yesterday to put the car back to its original 52 plate.

Good Bits
Car comes with lots of receipts of previous work carried out
Rear tyres are almost new
Interior is very clean and tidy
Walnut & smokestone steering wheel included
BMW walnut gear selector included
Almost new towbar with twin electrics

Bad Bits
2 x front tyres need replacing
Alloy wheels need refurbishing
Bodywork is in fair condition for its age but there are a few marks around the car
Under tray is missing

Reduced to £350

Serious offers will be considered.

If you have any questions please feel free to pm me.

Thanks
Paul

Pretty well mate thanks...

Wish I had the money to buy her back mate... Doubt you will not struggle to find a buyer at that price...

What I can do is mention a few positives that you have not mentioned

Unless you have reverted it back then the car has the 160 map which is a big + point

I can also add that I did a lot of work to this car.. It has had the A/C condensor replaced and I changed the fan for a 2 speed with uprated gold resistor

Checked it over for most things when I had it, so all weak points were addressed...

Best of luck with the sale mate

P.S What happened to the Xenons? Or will you be selling them on their own ?

On re-reading your post Paulie,re;belt and crankshaft pulley..i think i may have got the mechanic back to have a look at his work,i read a bit of previous belt failure history and if the belt is fitted correctly and the pulley is of decent quality there should not be the problems that you speak of,for 300 sovs id want a proper job..also seeing as it has caused you to want to sell the car because of it..baz.

Hi Baz

I completely agree with you, as mentioned the rattle is still there and I cannot pin point where its coming from. My plan was to sell the car later in the year so at that point I decided not to spend any more money on it.

As I say perhaps this could be easily fixed by someone who has more experience with the 75 CDT engine.
