Tom's MG ZT 1.8T X-Power Grey for Sale - £895 ovno. **SOLD**
SOLD, GONE, payment received. Thanks for the interest!
PROVISIONALLY SOLD I'll keep the advert up unless it falls through for whatever reason. Many thanks for your interest, I've been bombarded this morning, and is proof if ever that a well maintained car priced well will sell quickly Tom. Well, I've got my motorbike test on 6th August, and my ZT has hardly been used recently as I have a Fiesta for commuting in, so it is with regret and a heavy heart that I am putting my cherished ZT up for sale. Its a fabulous car and I have very much enjoyed owning it, I have spent thousands getting it just right, and it must be one of the best examples out there. So the details: 1.8T 160, Plus model. X-Power Grey (LEF) Rare Monogram BLACK alcantara interior (WTD) Projector headlights (recently polished and look like new!) Upgraded headlight bulbs from SebastianClement on here Upgraded CD player with MP3 compatibility. 111k miles MOT til May 2015, tax expires November 2014. Nice set of genuine MG rubber mats, and a set of velour mats also. Nice to have separate summer and winter sets. Genuine MG Rover tow bar fitted, but I have the original crash bar etc if you would like it removed, I am happy to do this for you. Nice and cold air con. Dry plenum. Rad fan works perfectly. Bonnet cable splitter box mod. Two working keys (thanks Marina Brian!) Reverse light switch changed. Overall its in superb condition, body work is really first class, as is the interior. There are 2 things that I would like to have done to finish the car off, and that is to fit the freshly refurbished hairpins (I was waiting until the tyres needed replacing), the ones fitted to the car are a bit tatty, but I will include the freshly refurbished set for you to swap over at your leisure. The other thing is to replace the bonnet as there is a small rust bubble on the leading edge, probably a stone chip that went untreated. Its not an eyesore yet, but with replacement bonnets available for as little as £20 its well worth sourcing one - if I find one in the right colour before you buy then I will change this. The interior is superb with just the tiniest bit of wear to the seats, if you are very picky some dye from Stubie would see them perfect. Uses no oil or coolant and runs like a dream! It is the quietest k-series I've heard, with no tapping on cold starts whatsoever. The engine is a peach. Lots of service history, recent work includes: Recent T4 session by Phil-T4 and everything in spec and given a clean bill of health. New Pagid front disks and pads, front callipers painted black. New badges all round. New back box. New lower engine mount (Roewe item) Shannon tube replaced with high quality item. New boost control solenoid and silicone pipes. New lambda sensor. (genuine NTK quality item). New (genuine Rover) coil packs and NGK Platinum spark plugs. MG Rover smiley plate, and includes a brand new spare set! Correct short 1.8T under tray fitted. Mega service including all A, B, C and D service items. All coolant pipes replaced, latest viton inlet manifold gasket, thermostat and coolant change (vacuum filled). Expansion cap seals changed for viton ones. Replacement rear light gaskets fitted. Rover 75 rear light clusters as these are smoked and look better (standard MG ones included also) 4x good matching tyres, 4-5mm tread all round. Kaisers (I recommend these tyres!). Arctic stainless handbrake compensator mod. MLS head gasket and cambelt etc at 90k miles. New turbo at 75k miles. It really is a fine example and wants for nothing, other than the cosmetic items mentioned above. I will undertake an 'A' service this weekend so it should be good for another year without needing money spent on it! I will include a Tazu master cylinder, Pagid rear disks, Pagid rear pads, Pagid rear brake shoes and any other service consumables I find in the shed ready for fitting at your leisure. These items do not need replacing yet but I bought them as I generally replace things long before they really need doing. The a/c compressor does make a subtle whine, I suspect a re-gas would cure this, but as it currently blows ice cold I've struggled to justify the expense. There are no known mechanical faults, it drives faultlessly, and it flew through the MOT in May (at the Bedford Council test centre) with no advisories whatsoever. I will consider swaps/part ex for a good first big motorbike (no sports bikes) up to a value of around £1800. Car can be viewed at my home in Brafield-on-the-Green, near Northampton most evenings and at the weekends. I genuinely believe this is one of the nicest pre-facelift examples, and you will need to look damned hard to find a better one. I have priced this for sale at the very realistic bargain price of £895 oVno. Why so cheap? Well it was a Cat-D in 2006, but it has been repaired to an incredibly high standard, and lots of pictures of the replacement parts are in my project thread (front bumper was new old stock from X-part, intercooler swapped, headlight replaced, overall it was a very easy repair indeed and you will not be able to see any signs of repair whatsoever). I have maintained this car and restored it to superb condition, and it really should be a keeper! It will make its new owner delighted I am sure. A few pictures More pics and info in my project thread here - http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=147468 I will give it another polish soon and update the photos Thanks for looking. Tom.

Just to summarise, this is £895, with a spare set of freshly refurbished hairpins worth £200, a spares package worth £150, making the car itself just £550. I must be mad!!

Ill take the car for £550 unseen
Can't believe your selling up your build thread shows how much effort you've put in. I'm sure it will fly out the door. Simon

You can have it for £600 without the wheels and spares package. When do you want to collect? To be honest I really do want it to go with the wheels etc, it would be great to see someone finish the car. It'll be the easiest project to complete for someone, slap the new brakes, wheels and Tazu parts on, new bonnet, job jobbed! Perfect candidate for a trip to Z&F too. I hope it doesn't hang around, I've been very sensible with the price indeed! I'm sure once I get my motorbike the pain will ease

Just to add - it also has 2 working keys (thanks to MarinaBrian), and I replaced the reverse light switch.
No knocks from the suspension, its a beauty.

I do hope it's temporary and you return to the fold Tom. I for one will certainly miss you on here, so keep popping in and we'll welcome you with open arms once you've got the bike mid life phase out of your system, lol
