Strange reverse sensor problem

As I posted a few months ago my reverse lights and sensor stopped working (got a new sensor to fit) but on Monday I parked my car up and they suddenly started working so I tried doing it again and they didn't work...
Any ideas what that could be?

Was it a bit sunny . Mine on the 1.8 didn't like the sun on them.

Mine have this problem... tend to work fine in the winter, but come summer stop working. I'm pretty sure it's probably a connector somewhere and just needs a spray with contact cleaner... but not got round to removing the rear bumper to investigate further.
