I have just checked all the wires on the new install and they are tight. The new install is ISO to ISO not bare wires as in the photo.

Check the dimmer wheel on your light switch move it up and down a few times see if that makes a difference

Can you show us a picture of the back of the grey ISO plug you are going to use.

I can see in your picture a red/green wire going into a plug. Is this black plug for your clarion unit ?

Are you saying that you have a BMW to ISO and then to a clarion plug ?

Also your picture shows terrible wiring and if you are actually using this grey plug, to put it mildly, it's not best practice,

For now I have just cut the illumination wire which has solved the issue. I made sure all the wires where connected fully ( and no I wasn't just ramming bare wires into plugs etc ...the pics above where when I was first installing the stereo using the butchered loom that had been left behind by the previous owner )

I had the exact same thing happen with my car when I had the Iovox unit replaced with a Pioneer unit, and like you the problem was when the lights were on, and annoying. When my car went in for a service and it was T4'd and thought nothing of it until the next time I drove the car with the lights on and the unit was not flickering, so not sure what happened with the T4 session, but it must have done something and the problem never returned. I now have one of Sean's DD in and that has never flashed.

Does not help you really, but just explained my situation

Ian

Its a deffinate strange one as the last unit I had in there for a few days before I got this had no issues when the lights where on.....well it wouldn't dim much but that was better than flashing lol
