Unhappy HELP. Symphony Radio Removal

How do I remove my radio to see if the code is written on it, have had battery disconnected and now the radio is asking for a code. I have checked all my paperwork that came with the car and there is no radio code.

Barry.

Take the 'eyebrow' trim off above the radio, find the fixings by unclipping the trim from under the eyebrow. Then you'll need some of those radio removing metal strips that go into the slots on the radio. When these go in the push clips in to allow the removal of the radio. I've got a symphony waiting to go into my car here & there's a code on the underneath, printed on a label.

edit - just remembered there are some fixings on the front of the radio but you would have seen those anyway

If you don't have the metal strips an old plastic "credit" card cut into strips works too

Have removed radio but only numbers on it are the last 6 of the vin code. Have tried last 4 and first 4 but still no good. Where do I go from here, all suggestions gratefully accepted. Does the waiting period before you can input the code keep getting longer?

I'm afraid I do not know more than you have already said so hopefully someone will come along who owns a Symphony and can help out ...

Most Symphony units will start up without the code. I've had two and neither needed a code inputting.

Reading elesewhere though (e.g. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...=symphony+code) it seems the Symphony has a code but it's not always enabled.

I'm not sure if each unit has its own individual code or whether they'll accept one of a batch of correct codes. If it's the latter, I can give you a Symphony code.

You'd need the code to begin with.

To get the code, I would contact your local XPart Autoservice centre tomorrow.

I believe they will want to see documentation (log book and driving licence), then they can find the code for you.

try 0 0 0 0

Or have a look through your handbook as it may be written on the radio page.
