Default IE8 - duff update released

If anyone's using IE8, Microsoft have released a duff security update which screws up various things.

Ident is KB980182. If you haven't already installed it, the best option is to ignore the little swine.

I only noticed the errors it produces an hour ago, having said 'yes' to installing it this morning.

At the very least (I don't know what else it does) - it messes up the ability to follow web page links and reply to a post in a forum. For instance, on this site, you can't reply to a post at all, trying it caused mayhem.

I did a System Restore and got rid of the update.

Just go to add/remove prgrams and remove it from there. (or now warned don't mark for download)

Odd as mine updated earlier and I'm not seeing any problems (famous last words)

Tried it loaded last night and no problems here or any warnings/reports on MS Partner website either at the moment.

Any further information on your problem you had with it?

yeah i had that and simply deleted as i mostly use firefox
