Your explanation about using focus in the camera body is a great tip. Thank you very much. I decided not ask my friend who works for Sony, to get me a discount, as those deals don't come with a better package that I can get by shopping around at similar prices elsewhere in the market place, some with longer warranties.

Are you thinking of the A6500 Phil? It is the one I think I will get in a few months. It seems to be the best all rounder and I have APS-C lenses to fit at the moment from my A6000.

I have researched most of the reviews Paul for the A7 series and keeping going back to the A6500 for the reasons you have given. After driving a GoPro the size of a match box, in comparison I am sure I won't find the A6500 too fiddly. In fact it's size, weight and specs are all very appealing. One supplier even offered an extra 3 years warranty on top of the manufacturers 12 months. Jessica has noticed that mirrorless cameras seem to show up the wrinkles in people's faces more, something she is not too happy about. Of course there are ways around that

You need a lens of low quality for pics of us oldies. It hides the wrinkles

I was just getting on the tractor today and noticed the sun shining through a tree just a few feet away.

This was the best of a few shots.

I took a few more pics of leaves on the same tree.

I ended up with three different crops of the same picture.

I like the shape the branch makes but if I include the entire curve of the branch, the detail in the leaves is lost. Or I can crop in to see the details in the leaves and the nice curve in the branch is lost

great detail, Paul.

For composition, I think I prefer the first one, which for me still holds good detail.

Before the rain starts here today I grabbed a couple of shots. Some hawthorn and a bee on a nettle.

The second one does give it a bit more of a 'wow' not that it needed it
