Help needed
I just bought a Rover 75 CDT in Hungary.
How can I know the firmware version of my Mk3 navi? From where could I download the new firmware with the nice Rover splash? How to update firmware? I worry to destroy the system, hard to repair here! Do we need any Key CD after upgrade? Kiwirover! Your splash is nice! Thanks! |

Thanks for the info on the splash screens which look fantastic. I have a Hi-Line unit factory fitted to my '04 ZT-T but how do we know which version it is?

It's almost certainly an MGR MKIII, there is a thread on how to identify it.

MK3 splash
I think it has been done, maybe a bit more fiddly than the MK4.
To start you off have a read here: http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/293575 |

Afraid not always possible on the MK3 Rover units,
No problem on the BMW MK3's, but I have had problems with the Rover MK3 units myself. |

For Viti
To see the software version go to the <Set> menu from the Main menu.
The software version appears on the top right. Have a read here to find what the numbers mean: http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/29257 You also need to read this thread because you must burn Mode2/Form1: http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/293575 I used ImgBurn. |

I have v32 software installed, and I want to do the HEX trick to make my MK4 think it's v33. The HEX on the first line of my lng_rel.tbl is :
3130 3030 3035 3036 566F 6963 6573 2F30 And the first line of sw_rel.tbl is : 3130 3030 6170 705F 7377 2F00 0000 0000 Could you advise on which fields I need to edit here, as obviously they're slightly diff to the v28 version in the tutorial. Cheers |

software version number
The first 3 bytes (31 30 30) are relevant in the version.
So yours would be 100 displayed as 4-1/00 in the setup menu. Change the third number to 31 (31 30 31) which will be the next version up so 101 (4-1/01). |
