Default MG ZT 180 Auto plus pics

*PRICE DOWN TO £700.

Just a few miles from me is a chap called Chris who is looking to sell his ZT. I would love to buy it but 3 of my 4 cars have failed in the last month so I will have to pass on this one. Pictures will follow on the second posting.

Gave it a look over so here is my appraisal:

For a 12 year old car (02 plate) its very clean with only minor fettling to get it 100%.
No apparent dings on the body and no rust.
Bullet door mirrors. Did not check to see if the they were powerfolds.
Interior is half leather with grey Alcantra. Minor wear but very presentable.
Starts first turn of the crank and sounds very sweet.
121k miles with history. Chris tells me the belts were done around 96k.
18" alloys "straights". Front tyres almost new and rears will have a few months left in them.
Underneath it is solid but I would put a wire brush over parts and use waxoyl to preserve it. It is after all 12 years old.
Brakes discs are quite new as no lip has formed yet.

Bad points:
Nearside top windscreen trim has come away. Not a big job to put right.
One of the plugs that cover the roof rail mountings is missing. 50p from a scrapyard!
A good valet would do it good and bring out the best in it.

Price is negotiable but he is looking for offers around £1000.
Pics to be uploaded now.

You may want to adjust the heading as if it's an Auto. it'll be a 180 not a 190.

Oops my mistake. Assumed all 2.5's were 190. Will brush up on my knowledge of the range.

Just been to see Chris today. Car has not been advertised and is currently available for £700.

A lot of car for the money as many on here will know.

To all those who have sent a PM asking for more details I'm sorry it has taken a few weeks to get hold of Chris. Now I can report back.

He bought the car in 2007 and had the belts done at 99k in March 2008. The car has now done 121k so the belts are on about 22k and well within the limit. Timewise they have just gone over the 6 year limit so its up to you how you see that and whether to buy or not. The bill was £672 all inc.

All the MOT's are present to verify mileage. Its a good car and at the price its worth a punt. If I did not have 5 Rover/MG cars already I would have been tempted.

This is still in general forum. Can it be moved to "for sale" please?
