Default Complacency kills (your engine)

Yep, it's that old plenum drain thing again. For a couple of months now I've has this weird thing on my CDTi where if I went round a roundabout fast the engine would die, then come back once I was on the straight and narrow again. Yesterday it just wouldn't start. Plenum chamber was a swimming pool. Cleared it out with wooden spoon and waited. After a couple of hours it ran perfectly first time. Elated I set off for the shops. Of course it died in half a mile. Just stopped, no indication of any trouble. Tried again. Exactly the same result. Left it in the sunshine today, but now it won't go at all. Have I made my intermittent problem worse by prodding and poking the ECU, or could it be a red herring?

Statically, Steve.

Pretty sure diesel ECU's aren't sealed the same way petrol ones are , if it's wet inside it may be time to get a T4 expert to have a look at it ?

May be worth taking the ECM out of the car, unscrewing and splitting the casing and drying the circuit board out thoroughly in the airing cupboard over night.

If it still doesn't start then take Simon's good advice and contact Brian for repairs/replacement.
