Default Aluminium and rubber trim on internal door trim

That is probably a very clumsy description of what I am trying to describe! When you remove the internal door trim it reveals an aluminium strip along just below the window level which has a rubber 'seal' along the top. We have found that the aluminium is corroding on mine and expanding to push up lumps in the rubber, visible through the window, and forcing the door trim out of shape at the top so it won't fit properly.

If anyone is able to follow that please read on! I want to source replacements but the only possible supplier I am aware of is Rimmers and there seems to be a fault with their web site. I can't find those strips mentioned at all but if you expand the 'glass' section it wrongly takes you to the body work section.

I could buy second hand but then risk buying the same corrosion!

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If I'm understanding it right, it's numbers 11 and 12 here, but mostly unavailable anyway...

Thank you both for your replies. Yes, that is exactly what I mean. I don't know why you can obviously see them on the Rimmers site but I (and Trophy Blue Tourer who looked with me this afternoon) couldn't.

I guess good second hand is the only option - if I can find any.

It's in the exterior trim section...

Good 2nd hand is the only way, which side do you need? I think I may have a spare passenger side rear trim, but the drivers side was corroded on the car I got it off.

Thanks again! I couldn't find it in any section but didn't expect it to be in external trim.
I need both sides but it is the passenger side that is more urgent. I am only at Milton Keynes and could collect it tomorrow if that would be convenient. Could you please pm me details of price, address, etc.

I'm at work at the moment, not home until 6am when I'll need my bed, but I can have a look for it tomorrow afternoon and arrange something then if that's ok. Not entirely sure of it's condition, but I know it wasn't bubbling on the surface.

That's brilliant! I will be out at some time tomorrow but will watch out for your message. Alternatively I have a friend I will be meeting next Saturday in Crewe who happens to live in Corby but is not into cars - of any sort!

If it easier for you, then he's more than welcome to pop round 1 evening and collect for you. If you PM your number, I'll get some photos of the trim tomorrow and send them to you.
