Default Door Lock or Actuator

Is anyone able to confirm by these facts that my fault is with the actuator or the lock, as I have been told 2 different things?
1. remote operates everything perfectly except will not open the drivers door.
2.The remote will lock it fine.
3. The key will operate the drivers door lock (and the whole locking system) without any issues and is a smooth operation (no catchy bits as I turn it) !! Any guidence to by the correct part will be very helpful

It is a classic sign of one of the motors failing in the actuator and this is by far the most common problem. Never say never though there could be a lesser known issue. It would be fair to say that a replacement drivers door actuator would almost always solve the problem.
When they first start to fail they do actually operate with the central locking / unlocking button on the centre console but not the remote.

Why do they fail to operate with the remote but work with the button on centre console?

No idea I can only imagine the direct pulse from the switch is possibly slightly longer

in the last 13 years think all my door locks have failed in one way or another, my drivers side more so, normally the unlocking. but I just get a second hand lock of ebay, then its good for a few years,
