Hi Robin.
I presume you also cleaned out the manifold and the MAP sensor, as just cleaning the EGR would not do you much good with the manifold in that condition.
Nope actually! I ran out of light and heat that evening. I will take a look at it tomorrow.

Cleaned the spare carpet to replace the stinking soaking wet one in the wife's car, wife arrives home, and after making her a cup of tea, she informs me the "boot is wet again"

Well to say I was disappointed was an understatement, so to sum up what as been done to try and sort this blasted leak.

New "Jezzer" lamp seals

New boot seal

Waist trims removed and sealed

Rear window trim removed and lower clips removed, the square holes blanked off and new clips glued into position with epoxy, then covered in silicone prior to replacing the window trim.

Boot vents removed, cleaned and sealed.

The boot hinge bolts were removed and individually sealed, the panel closing gaps have had fresh seam sealer........

To be frank, I cannot blame anyone who gives up at this point, the build quality of these cars is absolutely dire, I drove my 21 year old 416 Tourer to go and collect the carpet and boot lining that wouldn't fit in the ZT boot, a car with a sunroof, and do you know what it is bone dry inside, not a stinking mouldy black lagoon like the 75, the so called flagship model

It beggars belief, it really does.

Got my brother to check the A/C on my 190 ZT-T. He's a mobile A/C re-gasser covering North London and Hertfordshire/Essex borders.

When we looked initially we thought it was devoid of gas but his box of tricks showed a small amount of pressure still present, a good thing. So everything still in the system was sucked out and the vacuum tested for half an hour. As it was happy to hold a vacuum bro declares that the system is probably sound and worth regassing.

Now just waiting for a warm day to give it a proper test

PM me if you want his contact details. he can work at your house or place or work so long as there's access to mains power.

You don`t need a warm day, in fact air-con should be run on a regular basis even in the depth`s of winter.

Do you also know how long could be recommended?
For example, I aim to have it running at least 30 minutes a week, even when I don't really need it due to good weather.

Unfortunately, I often drive distances shorter then 30 minutes, and I have been taught that you should turn it off roughly 5 minutes before you arrive at your destination.

Should I let it run at least 30 minutes a week? More? Less?
Should I really turn it off before arriving?

Not really worth a separate topic I think, but still interesting to know.
