Cheers guys. Some useful stuff there. If I change my car it will be for a Merc E class.

Tried selling my car through Gumtree and eBay.

Through Gumtree got nothing but numpties offering silly prices and one particularly annoying woman who needed to know I would take a price for the car before even coming to see it!

First person who came to see my car from eBay bought it and for the price I advertised.

Gumtree now owned by ebay is a wonderful machine once you ditch the numpties and scammers, dont bother with the silly text messages, just keep to the old fashion phone calls. I bought my red ZT via ebay and my blue ZT via Gumtree, no silly text messages or the like, just pick up the phone arrange to go see and put cash on the table (job done).

I recently sold our much loved MPV via Gumtree, it sold in 20 mins from the add going live. I also sold my previous two Toyota Celica's via Gumtree which sold in less than 2 hours, if you start with good photos and a well detailed write-up, the car will sell itself.

No one should be put off from buying a car from ebay or Gumtree, its the norm now-a-days, even the big-wigs in the know use these two selling formats.

In fact, I've seen several cars I wish I'd seen before I bought mine as they seem higher specced and have a known history.

Sometimes when buying niche cars like the right spec zt you want or an escort rs or whatever and its 200 miles away, you have no choice but to negotiate over the phone without viewing. Its not the best way to buy I admit but fairly common nowadays
