Default How much for V6 belt change

Im considering a ZTT V6 190 but there is no indication of the belts being replaced so this will be taken into consideration when negotiating. Im thinking about £600 for a V6 belt change?

I was quoted £300 labour if I get 3 belts myself from eBay or wherever

£600 sounds a bit steep to me, £450 including parts is nearer the mark in my opinion (thats what I was quoted). I ended up buying the kit from DMGRS and a locking tool set (£125 off fleabay) and doing it myself.

p.s. don't forget to change the water pump and all the belt idlers, more often than not its idler failure that takes the belt out. Also worth changing the alternator belt seeing as you have to remove it anyway!

Give Cossie Dunc a call I'm sure he would offer a competitive price, he's not too far from you, in Whitburn

Don't forget to get a water pump, tensioner and idler, use Gates belts as they were the OEM fitment.

Garage rates around here must be higher; I was told £750 is normal...labour at £50 + VAT per hour plus parts and materials (antifreeze etc.)
