Default Radiator grill query

Guys, sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I couldn't get access to the body section for some reason?
Some plonker reversed into my car at work last night and smashed my front grill.scratched my headlight too but I can rub that out I think.my car is a 2002 conny,2.0 cdti, and Rimmer Bros are charging 200 plus post for the grill which is from a 2003-2004,with another £20 plus vat for a bonnet catch.theres a ton of 75 grills on eBay for about £30,so quite a saving, but Rimmers have said that each year model is slightly different and so it may not fit my car.sellers on eBay advertising as fit from 99-2003 etc etc sooooooo, does anyone know who is right? Do I buy the expensive one or are they really all generic "pre facelift"
THansk for any help

MK1 grills are the same Or, if the fins are broke, take them all off & fit mesh

Is there a way of keeping the release claw if you do the mesh job? Or would I have to settle for a Project Poverty "stick-your-hand-in-and-hope" set up?

If you're that fussed you can fit a ZT release, or, do as I do, pop the bonnet then push your hand under & push the hook back

I love the look of your motor,I'm going to really try when the weather gets better to do some cosmetics to mine too,as I had a real bargain with mine and it's in really good nick. What type of mesh did you use? I.e. Material, grade etc and can you buy it at standard stores etc or online? Also,I really like the Viking badge you have on the grill too! Where can I get one?! eBay?also,on another note, the piece of chrome trim on the passenger side rear door (between the handle and the edge of door) keeps coming loose, any recommendations for a decent adhesive for that?
