I started pottering in the garden earlier, had to come in, too hot. Just checked the thermometer on the wall in the side garden, 33 degrees

16:25 update:

Getting stupidly hot out there now, thermometer on the wall is showing just under 36 degrees!

Antifreeze update: in the roughly 17 hours since it left London it has got as far as Gatwick, processed there at 13:41 and its still there . . . . still showing to be delivered by the end of today! Unless DHL has a cargo version of the Typhoon fighter jet and intend dropping it by parachute I don't think so

It was 25.5C coming back from Bolton at dinner time, I've just been washing the conservatory roof with soap & water to get rid of the mortar & cement splashes from yesterdays roofing job, I'm absolutely fried. That's me done now with a nice cold beer.

Oooo! Bank holiday weekend & a parcel at Gatwick! you'll have to call batman or something.

Just had a thoroughly sensible food-shopping afternoon. SWMBO and my sister wandered around Morrisons, Iceland and Aldi - while I stood in each shop, admiring the contents of the chiller section - lovely and fresh it was

ANOTHER healthy salad today for tea - Quiche Angela (missus' version of Lorraine!) and various green things, peppers and some rather hot Thai curry rice crisps - all washed down by an ice-cold bottle of Thatchers Old Rascal cider. To finish - a rather large slice of water melon which has been in the fridge since yesterday.
Forecast for teatime tomorrow for this area - torrential downpours, thunderstorms and hail, leading to flash flooding

Sounds good Rod Iooks like we're in for the same, I've just seen the yellow weather warning for the north west for tomorrow afternoon & Sunday

I don't mind a salad Ian - as long as there's a bit of meat involved somewhere down the line. Just to hedge my bets, in case it turns cold over the weekend, I bought a couple of Pukka Pies in Morrisons - special offer at a quid apiece

I have to agree - when it's as humid as it is, eating is no longer such a pleasurable thing as a hot stew is in the middle of Winter

- on the other hand, flashing - now that's a different story !

Since that Richard has been in here, you've all changed! He is a bad influence and a pervert!

On that note, Nite all! Up at silly am tomorrow! Got a lay in on Sunday, not at work until just past six am! 😊
