To try and end on a slightly brighter note, we're now safely ensconced in our caravan site home for the next couple of weeks, a few miles down the road from Torquay. We had a sunny journey from home to Gloucester on Saturday afternoon/evening - a good night's sleep in the caravan at the Motorway Services (best I've seen in this country - the fried breakfast this morning was suoerb) - and then a rather damp last 130 miles to Devon toda\y. I'll post some pictures up when I get the chance - there's free wifi on the site - but the speed is only around 2 mbps

Glad to hear you got there safe & sound Rod. We've had a few showers rolling through this afternoon, It's gone really warm now but theres a yellow weather warning out for tomorrow here, heavy rain expected to last into Tuesday.

Traffic around Henley was a nightmare,it took 1 hour and a half to travel the last 4 miles
