Default C0289

Hi All,

Can anyone help me with a drawing for the connector C0289 (K-bus header- drivers side behind LSM)? The only drawing I have has about 10 wires on it and I think there are 18 on mine,Oh and is the header numbered because I have a blue one that is not numbered?

Many Thanks

Neil

Hi Simon,
Yes already seen that (thats what prompted me to go on the hunt for the elusive connector/header ). I have found it and would like to know what wire is what when I start to disconnect and hopefully trace the fault.
Thanks for the heads up on the connector.

As all the K-bus wires have the same colour code, I don't believe it is possible to know where each one goes, particularly as they're all connected together at the header.

What's the problem with following Marc's procedure?

Looking at the RAVE drawing I have got it shows where each cable is going to (only ten on my drawing).Just makes it that little bit easier whilst hanging upside down in the footwell with all the blood rushing to my head.

C0289 (RHD)
Connector colour: grey
Capacity: 19 terminals
Gender: female

Pins 1 - 8 are K-bus connections (white/red/yellow).

Pins 1 - 4 and pin 6 apply to circuits found on all models.
Pin 5 applies only to the Harmony audio system.
Pin 7 applies only to the parking distance control.
Pin 8 applies only to electric seat adjustment.

The remaining pins have nothing to do with the K-bus.

Hi guys,

It seems I have a faulty K-BUS connexion somewhere so I'd like to test it using C0289 connector.

I digged under the glovebox (I got a LHD ZT, nobody's perfect ) and found this grey connectror taped to the main loom. I got 2 questions for you guys:
1. Is this actually the CO289?
2. It has 20 holes - even if they'not all used so which one is the 1st?

Thanks in advance!

Well, after having labelled all the wires I came across an unexpected issue: I cannot open the connector.

I can insert a little screwdriver between the 2 parts of the connector, as shown in the picture, but I cannot push up the inner part, they won't separate, not even move a little. I don't want to break the connector so I'm stuck there.

Is there a specific way to open the connector?
