MG ZT + 180 SPORTS AUTO with Campaign Pack– Starlight Silver - £950
2003 ’53 registration
91,000 miles – driven daily
This car has been in my family since brand new – I am the second owner. Both owners non-smokers.
Full Service History including original new vehicle order from MG Rover for £18,439.07 in 2003!
MOT expires September 29th 2014
Taxed until 30th June 2014
I have meticulously maintained this car to keep it running as it should. Everything on this car works. All of the essential fixes and expensive service work has already been done – please see the lists below (all receipts available with the car history folder). The price reflects the age, mileage, high specification and condition of the car including the comprehensive list of fixes and upgrades that have already been carried out.
This is a great car with solid handling, comfortable ride quality and a lovely sounding V6 engine. Four doors and a large boot also make it a very practical car to own. The automatic gearbox variant is really rare and offers comfort in traffic whilst responding well when the kick-down is selected.
Car features:
• 2.5 litre KV6 engine
• ABS
• Starlight Silver Metallic paintwork
• 5-speed automatic gearbox with ‘Sports’ and ‘Snow’ modes
• 18inch ‘hairpin’ alloy wheels
• Electric windows front and rear
• Dual zone climate control
• Automatic rain wipers
• Automatic dimming rear view mirror
• Power folding door mirrors
• Power sunroof
• Reverse parking sensors
• Front and rear fog lamps
• Space saver spare tyre
• Remote central locking (both keys will be provided)
Key work done:
• Exhaust middle section replaced at approx 80,000 miles– MG genuine part
• Exhaust rear silencer replaced at approx 70,000 – MG genuine part
• Brake hard and flexible lines replaced at approx 65,000 miles
• Timing belts changed at 62,218 miles
• Air conditioning system de-gassed, re-gassed and de-bugged Summer 2013
• New Continental Sport Contact 3 tyres fitted to rear in September 2013
• New Continental Sport Contact 5 tyres fitted to front in December 2013
MG ZT known issues that have already been fixed on this car:
• New Kenlowe radiator fan fitted – the low speed setting fails on the factory part
• New thermostat & housing fitted - originals crack and leak coolant
• New coolant expansion cap fitted – these can weaken and cause a pressure drop
• Fuel filter / pump assembly orange tab fitted (MG genuine part) to prevent this assembly untwisting and separating (make sure this has been done on any ZT you intend to purchase. If not fixed the car may simply fail to start).
• Breather pipes replaced with silicone hose – the originals deteriorate and simply fall apart with time and heat exposure
• Windscreen washer pump and filter replaced at approx 85,000 miles – BMW genuine parts

Upgrades:
• Dual tone twin horn fitted – BMW changed this to a single tone horn on later cars but the dual tone is much more substantial and befitting of a car with the road presence of the ZT!
• Kenwood Bluetooth head unit with hands-free microphone fitted into over-head console.
• Latest official MG Rover engine tune loaded by an MG specialist.
Notes for the new owner:
• The front strut top mounts bearings will need replacing soon– I have purchased the replacement mount assembly (new genuine MG part) which includes the bearings. I also have a second set of new bearings. I will include both sets of parts with the sale.
• The inspection service is due within the next 1000 miles. The timing belts have already been changed so the service will be simply oil and filters.
• The paintwork is in good condition with minor surface scratches as you would expect for an 11 year old car. There are some scratches to the recessed part of the doors behind the door handles from daily use. The alloy wheels have some scuffs. I have tried to capture all perceivable imperfections in the photos.
• There is minor surface wear to the driver’s side seat bolster but no damage so this can easily be restored to bring back the leather’s appearance. There is a Cappuccino foam stain on the driver’s seat – see photos.
• There is a small chip in the windscreen but this is not in the drivers line of sight and does not fail an MOT
• I will include my copy of the MG ZT Hayne’s manual
