I’ve been given the ok to get my driving licence back, by the time I fully get back to work, I will have been off for 3 years.

Part of things are still not sorted for me yet, I can’t renew my bus licence just yet, I had my left eye cataract removed in January but even 4 months later is hadn’t allowed full vision from it yet.

I have been to eye clinic every 2 weeks or 4 weeks, but each time it hadn’t improved other than a tiny bit, I have to go for another appointment a week today, and this time I’m possibly going to see the cornea drs, if they don’t like what they can see, I may be put for a transplant of a cornea, which might fully replace my eyesight. So will see what happens next week.
Great news Rich, we might have to organise another jolly boys outing once you are ready!

Well done mate

All the best with your appointment next week with the eye specialist and if you need it, getting a new corneal transplant. You have been through a lot and deserve better times.
Thanks everyone for your support and best wishes.
Phil, the eyesight from left eye very very poor, since I had the cataract remove the sight has been a tiny bit of sight , but only something almost in front of me.
I can read car number plates from about 25 ft away from it from right eye with no problem at all.
Still can’t get out in the van as driving licence still hasn’t been arrived, despite my dr saying he would reply to any questions asking to give me his permission to start driving again.
I’m going to right a short note to each of my customers with my phone numbers asking to let me know if they want me back, or will just keep the current window cleaner if they’ve started doing my work.

Puts me in mind of a course I was sent on at work. Simon from Motherwell and myself went down to Doncaster for a course about downloading and interpreting the info from the data recorders being fitted to the locomotives.

First night we went down to dinner, I had the mixed grill, Simon had fish. The mixed grill had obviously been sitting dehydrating on a hotplate for a while, I asked Simon about the fish, his response was that there was a box with "Ross Frozen Foods" on it in the bin . . . . we were there for three days Luckily our Regional Manager and HR Manager were staying there as well and they were equally unimpressed by the catering. For the rest of the stay we dined in restaurants in Doncaster on their expense accounts.

At last! We got a reply in the post from the early assessment people following my missus fall & we've been marked as a priority case & awaiting an appointment.

They also mentioned reviewing the stairlift case too after we went somewhere else to get one They're coming out next Tuesday to see us.

Re the last of the above message ,I still don’t know how much work will stay with me come next month , it will be 3 years since all of my customers haven’t had me every month.
Don’t know wether or not I’ll have any customers which is mine after nearly 30 years of doing the job .

Hi Rich I’ve just read your text message.

Good news about you getting your license back. Been a long haul over the last 3 years but you have made it this far so fingers crossed for you.
Don’t know if I’ll be up this year but will let you know in good time.
