I too have an airbag light on my dashboard. The previous owner said it was a loose connection under the driver's seat. Sure enough I looked and I can see the female end of a connection block with about 5 pins and a yellow and a black wire going into it. I cannot for the life of me find the male end of this connection block !!! It is towards the inside of the seat and is about 1cm wide and black in colour ?

Many thanks

Kel

That sounds more like a spare connector for electric heated / memory seats than the Airbag connector. Hopefully someone will confirm soon.

EDIT* This thread may help to identify it, check the picture in the first post.

Ignition off.

If airbag light comes on and under-seat connections are ok, the next most common failure I believe is the side impact sensors which are under the carpet directly beneath the rear of each front seat towards the side of the vehicle. Especially suspect if they have got wet due to water ingress (plenum/sunroof/etc).

If so, probably worth a T4 session to help find which side has failed as seat has to come out to get access.

If the airbag light goes on and off at varying intervals, then it will be underseat connectors.

If it stays on permanently it will be side impact sensors or a dead ECU / reluctor ring!

Mine ended up on permanently, turned out to be a duff driver's seat belt pre-tensioner.

T4 is the way to go, takes all the guesswork and frustration out of it.

After you're clean bill of health last week Andy, Ed's has come on a couple of times briefly since, so I guess that I'm under the seats again on the next half decent day!
