Ews
I have recently suffered a sunroof drain hose leak on the drivers side and am aware of the problem having fixed the passenger side previously but, unfortunately did not get round to the other one!
The car will not turn over and having checked the obvious traced the fault to the ECW. The pin socket on the unit is corroded and one pin broken off and another loose. I would also suspect that its fried a component on the board. I am at a loss on how to proceed due reading other threads on fixing, replacing and keys etc Can anyone help please on this the ideal solution being to fix the unit, I am desperate and now out off my depth Last edited by Beast51; 4th March 2024 at 10:57.. A local (Swedish) member had the same problem but thanks to BigRuss it was resolved. All your information is saved on the large chip inside the EWS, our local member bought a used EWS and found a local electronics company to swop the chip, then all good. Perhaps your friendly iPhone repair shop could do the job.
Good luck ps. Link: https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...d.php?t=312290 Last edited by vitesse; 4th March 2024 at 12:07.. Reason: Link included |

Here's another option Roger. You could give Paul Brown a call. He performs repairs at component level and is an MGR enthusiast. If the damage is limited to the connector, he may have a replacement. Resist assuming the worst!

If you don't have any luck with a trader on here or getting help locally, I can sell you a used EWS and program it with your data. You would have to post me your EWS for me to do this. The price of the used EWS would be £42 + postage and will include the programming.
Feel free to PM me if you want to take me up on this offer? Tommy :-) PS I'm on the hunt for a Platinum Gold MCN, LHS wing, anybody out there got one for sale.
