Hi managed to get to the motor and took it off, it was stuck to start with
but then was able to free it up but still will not work. I did notice on the
metal cog black plastic, which looks like it has been stripped of the inner
cog that the motor joins in the roof. I am hoping that that will be OK.
I opened the sunroof by hand and then closed it by using the allen key
and it did rewind so it may be OK. The sunroof is closed but the rear part is still sticking up slightly. I will get the motor tested and try and get a second hand one is the motor has burnt out.
Regards,
Jeff

Glad to hear you are getting to the bottom of it, try Les at SMC if you need a second hand motor. There are some Rover sunoof motors on e bay but not specifically for a seventy five.

re roof still open a little bit, are you sure the alun key doesnt just need a final turn to bring the roof back down, sounds to me like the tilt function is on ?

Let us know how you get on.

Hi Trebor,
I might have just touched the tilt part only. I still can't get the
last tilt bit down. I think it is going to be a new motor but I will get it
tested first. I have just bought a Van with a head gasket failure, which
is nearly done, apart from the timing I cocked up. Won't be doing the 75
belt change. This sun roof was the last problem I needed at the moment.
Thanks,
Jeff
