IPK and codes via milage reset button
I read a post yesterday which gave various info on interrogating the IPK by pressing the milage reset buttin and turning ignition to position one, but now I can't find it anywhere.
Tried searching, but no luck. Anyone any idea what I'm on about LOL? Ta, Robin |

OBC readings
Hi Kandyman
I followed the process to read the OBC data on my 2003 2.0 Diesel Tourer. In the list you published, section 1 shows readings of 1.0 - 1.6. When I read mine yesterday, I had the following readings: 1.0 = 28356 1.1 = 7604 1.2 = E. AAOOEC 1.3 = 040301 1.4 = 0503 1.5 = 06_ 160 1.6 = 1.7 = 01_07_ 1.8 = 28356 Do you have any idea what readings 1.7 and 1.8 refer to please? And my documented Vin number has an additional number (9) at the end. The full list of readings is as follows: Car Details Tourer 1.0 = 28356(9) 1.1 = __7604 1.2 = E. AAOOEC 1.3 = 040301 1.4 = 0503 1.5 = 06_ 160 1.6 = 1.7 = 01_07_ 1.8 = _28356 3.0 __0611 3.1 = __0782 4.0 = 4.1 = 5.0 =___070 5.1 = __0169 6.0 = __0152 6.1 —- 6.2 = __01199 7.0 = 000 7.1 = -____130 7.2 =. 0000 7.3 = 000 7.4 = 000 8.0 = IF4/8 8.1 = __0164 8.2 = 0000 8.3 = __0268/C 9.0 = 119/120 10.0 = 51 11.0 FdFdIF 12.0 = 13.0 = 14.0 = bf8800 14.1 = C78100 14.2 = 000000 14.3 = 000000 14.4 = 000000 15.0 01_.0 = 000101 11_.1. =000101/111 01_.2 = 001001 00_.3 = 101101 / 001101 11_.4 = 000101 01_.5 = 110011 00_.6 = 000010 16.0. = 17.0 = 18.0 = 19.0 = _L_on_/_L_oFF 20.0= 383.8 13.0c. 126611Q Cheers - Yellow Peril

Hi award winning Andrew,
The post by Kandyman to which you've replied is 15 years old and that member was banned a long time ago. To answer your questions, I don't believe it's known what the readings for tests 1.6 and 1.7 mean as they're not mentioned in the original BMW document on which the information is based. My VIN number is also one digit longer than the reading in test 1.0! Simon
