Default R75 srapped or......

hi all my work has a rover 75 1.8 auto 100k for sale for £600, but they havent had no offers at all so they are thinking of scrapping it, its been abused over the years, and over the last couple of years has just been used for occassional use if anyone needs a car. the faults: power steering pump(maybe), engine loosing water, needs front fog light, no tax... Pros: years MOT, all chrome looks good, 4 good tyres and union alloys chrome bullets (passenger side has scratch) oak dash (plastic type)... now what to do, i havent the time or the money for a project myself, so if anyone wants this for either spares or a to do up project let me know and i could put in a cheeky bid, would be a shame for it to go straight to the scrappers..... thanks all attached photo

Loosing water. Might only be inlet manifold gasket. Easy fix for even a novice.
Shame to let it be scrapped. Go ahead, put in a cheeky bid.

I agree, its too good to scrap, if I had the time and money, and space I would offer £300, but I don't so no point. Why don't you put it in the cars for sale section on this forum?

It is sad to see some of our cars scrapped however I myself and like many have had a good find at a good price to keep our girls on the road or modding from ones that have gone this way. The cars that I have seen in our local scrapper are pretty much done on an engine problem that could be easily fixed as said before, I guess some are beyond repeair but I feel that some people think " It's a MG Rover and we can't get it fixed anymore as you can't get the parts"...How many times have I heard that quote? ... I too would offer about 300 bangers for this car and I hope that it is not going the scrappy way and someone will snap it up for a fix .

Cheers
Tony

To be honest £600 is about what you would pay for one with no faults in todays market.

Prices have fallen to the floor on anything over 10 year old.

But they might rise in future.

Even for this condition, you have to pay !
And there is a little bit more wrong than only a leakage.

That's going to need a little more than a few tweaks,
