Default Radiator fan wires.

I am trying to fit another fan to the 1.8T.
has anybody got the wiring diagram for the fan and know which wires trigger at what temperatures?

Thanks.

Kaiser; first I need to know whether you currently have a fan with or without a resistor.

I do have a wiring diagram and I can identify the wires for you.

Hi.
The fan comes of a scrap V6 tourer I bought for spares. I think it has been replaced at one stage, there is evidence the front has had some damage.

the fan has a resistor, so it looks as if it is a later model.

The wiring diagramme I have made is as follows:
From the car.
one connector heavy wire Brown blue (Nu), Light wire yellow blue (Yu) and blue/red (Ur)
Other connector: heavy wire black (B) light wires Blue (Ur) and Blue/yellow (Uy)

The wires to the fan: N, y, ur on one connector, and U and B on the other:

The trigger wires for the relays come on at different temperatures, and (might? might not?) stay on as the temperature changes to the next band?

U triggers the low speed.
UR triggers the high speed.

Yes.

They do. The slow speed relay remains energised when the fast speed relay is triggered.

I have had to answer in general terms because you haven't made it clear which fan you are talking about: that from your 1.8T or the scrap V6. Please also reconsider the precise question I asked in my last post. Without the full story I cannot give you completely reliable answers.
