Thanks David. Car under warranty. Taking it to Rovetec in Stockton tomorrow for them to take a look. Have also been loosing some coolant . Replaced the expansion tank cap but still a problem, then today spotted the telltale sign of gunk on inside of oil cap. Annoying because I always check coolant every couple of days and straight after a long journey. Had no overheating or loss of power.

gunk under the oil filler cap is noway by means an indication off headgasket failier,,cooler weather now will cause the same efect,,if everytime we serviced a car and saw this we would be changing headgaskets every day,all day..opels/vauxhalls have this from new..not saying that it isn´t but...

Car going into Rovertec tomorrow for investigation. They feel that due to coolant loss probably hgf. Will be also sorting the suspension problem at the same time. All this will be done under the warranty cover I paid for when I bought the car. As I said earlier I religiously keep an eye on the coolant level at least 2 times a week so it has never overheated. Just a bit depressed at loosing the car possibly for as long as a week , will have to drive wifes Nissan Micra which is just not anywhere near the same pleasure.
