Default The Gryphon Award

Hi All,
Sorry i could not attend the meet, Congratulations to Andy on winning the Gryphon award, could one of the mods who attended the meet do a little article perhaps on how Jayne is, and how the presentation went, for those of us who could not be there, as it has hardly had a mention.

thanks bill.

Pete will be doing the write up but in short Jayne is doing very well and it was an honour to meet her. The award presentation to watch was quite emotional for the whole room but Jayne held it together and was a credit to Garry.

As I say Pete is doing the write up so more then.

I recorded the Presentation on Camcorder and once transferred to PC will gladly put it on some format for the Club to Download / see.

It was my first time using the Camcorder, so the Presentation is a little darker than I had hoped, plus the lights had been turned down which didnt help .

But it is clear enough to watch and the Sound is ok.

The write-up will be online tomorrow by the way - just doing the usual proofing checks.

It would be great to see the top 10 nominees for the Gryphon Award, but I don't soppose it's really practical given that it would entail publishing a list of reg. numbers.

Still, in the absence of any info to the contrary, I have convinced myself that my car came a close second!

Cliff

PS - I've said it elsewhere, but it bears repeating: A great meet, well organised and well thought out from start to finish. Many thanks to all involved.

To be honest the voting forms have now been dumped as its pointless keeping them. I do know that most of the cars voted for got between 1 - 3 votes but a few were higher than that. The winner had four votes more than second place and was a worthy winner.

Too late to demand a recount then

In fairness, although I didn't vote for the eventual winner (my vote went to the car driven down from Whitehaven) I did comment to Mrs Teflon just before the ceremony took place that V8 OMG really ought to win. I prefer the more traditional 75s myself, but that car really is an outstanding example. For anyone who didn't notice, I can confirm that it is as clean underneath as it is up top!
