Non starter
Evening all,
I had not started the car for 48 hours but needed to get to the cellar door today. Dash lights come on, radio, fan works etc etc all working but all I hear is click, click click etc when I turn the key. Thoughts? .

Flat battery.
Get it charged A.S.A.P and don't keep trying to start the car until you do or you might cause problems with the ECU.---or your solenoid is shot.------------- Last edited by COLVERT; 17th February 2018 at 20:15.. |

When you turned the key, and it went 'click, click' did the dash lights go dim? If not, then you probably have a poor connection to the starter motor, sometimes it is the earth, through the body of the starter to the engine/gearbox, sometimes the positive terminal ( thick wire). Not uncommon at this time of year with salt/muck/damp getting onto/into all kinds of electrical connections. Start off by checking connections/ starter motor bolts are clean and tight. If lights go dim, either battery is flat, or starter motor is jamming.
