Default Rain sensing wipers

Hi all

Having fitted the rain sensor to Chaggy so she is back to oem, when I put the wipers on intermittent they will just keep wiping like they are on, doesn't matter how much I adjust the time delay.... Any ideas??

Cheers

you'll need a T4 session to adjust the ZCS coding so it knows it's fitted

Even though a rain sensor was fitted from factory??

Is it because it's a different sensor?

Cheers

Arrrh, no it should work if it was factory fitted.

Why did you change it / re fit it ?

Because it had a new windscreen before I bought the car and they fitted the standard one and not the one with the sensor already bonded to it

So correct screen fitted and originally sensor put back then....

Only other checks to make is that the prism on the glass is clean and the the sensor is pushed on the clips fully before the two locking pins are slid home.

Failing that, you'll probably need it on a T4 to check the coding is ok.

Trouble is you don't know for sure it's ever worked

You say they fitted a standard screen, did you use automotive film/tint to make the shaded area which hides the sensor?

I have used tint but cut out the part for the sensor and the little circle part also...

If the sensor is not detected by the system, it will revert to intermittent operation, check connections and check for bent corroded and missing pins.
